114 Key Principles for Success

Introduction

Welcome to the 114 Key Principles for Success.

Success is not random.

Know what to do and understanding the principles is key.

You're fortunate because it took me years to develop the principles outlined in this book. These principles are laid out for you in a simple-to-follow format.

If you're already successful, congratulations! You know what it takes to be a success. You'll find some unique principles, that you won't find anywhere else.

I've whittled these down to an easy-to-read short book. If you read and take action on just a few of them you could join the top 1% in the world.

By purchasing this book, you join my family of readers. We are on a journey,  with a little help can get you to where you want to go.

You are unique. No one in the world has the same skills and experiences that you have. Each of these qualities can help you or hinder you on your road to success. This book will help you identify them.

One of my favorite analogies is about boiling water. When water reaches a temperature of 211 degrees the water is still.

But add just one more degree and the water boils. Are you in the same state as that 211-degree water? Your success may be just out of reach due to one small change you need to make. That change or key principle is in this book.

You will learn some of the key principles that helped me make millions working in the finance industry. I've worked for some of the top companies in the world, like GE, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase, and a number of hedge funds.

What is success?

Success is really up to you to define and is unique to you. Typically, success is reaching your goals. So we'll work together to get you there.

Some of the successes I've achieved are:
  • Getting interviewed on a major NYC Radio station WOR 710 for a website I created
  • Got over 73,000 followers on Twitter
  • One of the top Excel programmers in the world
  • Developed a diet that helped me lose 30 lbs. and keep the weight off
  • Published this book on Amazon Kindle using software I developed
  • Coached teams to hockey championships and have won them myself
  • Rode a bicycle 205 miles in 18 hours and received a team silver medal

On the lighter side of success:
How do you obtain success?

Success doesn't come easy and you must work for it until you make it a habit by:
  1. Setting goals
  2. Working hard
  3. Making adjustments
  4. Having a good system
  5. Not giving up
  6. Allowing yourself to fail and learning from it
Who is sucessful?

You know the names we associate with success. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bezos, Ben Franklin, and many others.

I have a friend that worked with Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com when Jeff was a banker. One day Jeff came into work and said, "I'm moving to California to start an online bookstore." Everyone laughed at him. Now he's one of the richest people in the world. This shows you that success can come from ideas that have many naysayers.

We associate success mostly with the rich and famous, although, there is luck and even a hindsight bias involved. What most people want when they say they want success is happiness.

I recommend, reading this book once through, and then reading it a second time, to take the key principles and make them your own. You can only do this by taking action. You can't learn to swim without getting in the water and you won't learn these principles without taking action.
